Biography
Warren Carroll was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
He started collecting insignia at a very early age, most
probably because his father was a "badger" as well. He
wrote Wings of Canada and Great Britain 1913-1945
in 1981 and has contributed to two U.S. publications
on Air Force and Para wings and one on Canadian AF
insignia. He has written for journals in Canada and the
U.S. on Commonwealth and world-wide aviation
insignia all over the world. As a member of the
Organization of Military Museums of Canada he has
helped on insignia and uniform identification for most
of the aviation museums in Canada, one in England
and one in former East Germany. Warren Carroll's
activity in the community resulted in receiving The Certificate
of Merit Award in 1989 and was presented with The Canada 125
Commemorative Medal in 1992, both from the Canadian Government. He is married
to Donna with two children, Eric and Erin who have since flown the coop. Having
lived in the United States as well as Canada, they currently reside in Thornhill
(Markham), Ontario.
